27 Ghosts

Before you start your journey with the 27 ghosts, take a moment to watch this video.

“27 Ghosts” is a collection of oil-pastel drawings, each portraying a figure that inhabits a parallel world. Every sheet functions as a doorway—a frame you step through—inviting you to ask a simple but unsettling question: Which world is the real one, and who is the ghost to whom? Do they see us as shadows, the way we see them?

The series plays with dualities—presence/absence, body/spirit, motion/stillness. Colors smear and resolve like memories; forms appear then recede, as if caught between heartbeat and echo. Shown together, the 27 pieces create a loose narrative of crossing: from our world to “the other,” then back again, never fully certain where we arrived.

The work is influenced in part by the poetic intensity of Uroš Toksović, the Montenegrin artist whose raw lines and mythic charge inform the atmosphere of this series. Here, that energy is translated into compact portals—intimate in size, expansive in suggestion.
