The Impact of AI on Human Evolution: Convenience vs. Humanity

The internet has revolutionized humanity, making information accessible to everyone.

Social networks and the concept of becoming a subscriber or follower have transformed the world profoundly. Accessibility to information has expanded, particularly to those topics we are interested in, making it more convenient to consume information.

Platforms like TikTok have further enhanced this convenience by curating content based on our preferences, reducing the need for active decision-making.

However, even with these advancements, there was still some effort required to consume information.

Then, artificial intelligence (AI) was developed, eliminating the need for manual consumption.

AI has made workflows much more efficient, providing professional knowledge whenever needed, in the desired quantity, and without the need for understanding.

For instance, one can simply ask ChatGPT to generate a prompt for MinJourney to obtain an image.

This decrease in the value of knowledge has led to a reduction in active learning, as people naturally tend to avoid effort and seek convenience.

Dependencies are formed, making it difficult to function without AI assistance.

Although there may not be an aggressive takeover of the world by AI as depicted in science fiction movies, its influence is gradually and invisibly increasing.

We are exchanging control over our lives for convenience and effortless living.

Initially, this transition may seem appealing, offering a more comfortable life. However, it comes at the cost of losing essential aspects of humanity, such as the ability to learn and create.

Is there a way out of this dilemma?

Unfortunately, no.

This is the evolution of humanity.
